First Newfoundland UDT



The first Newf to achieve all possible bench and obedience degrees, Nelson completed his C. D. the day he received his first championship points, taking BOB at Westchester in 1967. He finished his C. D. X. as well as his championship at the NCA National Specialty at Trenton in 1968, taking BW under Mrs. Godsol. In 1969 he earned both his U. D. and Track· ing degrees. In 1968, '69, and '70, he was named Top Obedience Newf by CHIPS magazine. Nelson retired from obedience competition after winning HSDT at the 1971 National Specialty with a score of 199 1/2. He is owned, trained, and handled by NCA Obedience Chairman, Mrs. Betty McDonnell.
